Pregnancy: Week 37

Week 37:

Baby: About the size of a romaine heart, 19.1 inches long and 6.3 pounds.

Weight: Didn't really gain any weight this week, still a total of 15 pounds.

Maternity Clothes: Yes!

Boy or Girl: Boy!

Belly Button In or Out: Poking out a bit, but still not totally an outtie.

Wedding Ring On or Off: On, although there were a couple of times that my fingers swelled slightly and I had a hard time working them off.

Cravings: Not really anything in particular.

Aversions: None, yay!

Exercise: I started doing Tracy Mallett's Fit Pregnancy Third Trimester workout and traded that off with my usual Lindsay Brin Third Trimester workout and What to Expect workouts.

Symptoms: Still had lots of heartburn, although it eased up a bit when I stopped eating so much spicy food. Still having Braxton-Hicks, although it almost seems like I'm having fewer of them? I'm having lots of round ligament pain as my belly keeps growing. And I definitely have continued to be more emotional. I think I've cried more in these past two weeks that I need in the past six months of pregnancy lol. It's nothing major, I just plain feel emotional and I assume it's a sign of changing hormones getting things ready for the big show! I started having some dysgeusia again and it really limited my appetite, which I think is why I didn't gain any weight this week.

Baby's Movement: He had a few super active days, where he kicked so much at my ribs and diaphragm that I swear I started to feel bruised. And then he had a few quieter days, so my poor ribs got a little break. He's still getting lots of hiccups. It feels to me like he has a lot less room to move around, which also might explain why he's being a little quieter.

Anything Noteworthy: We're full-term!!! The doctor skipped checking me at my visit this week because she thought his head would still be in the way and she wouldn't be able to tell if I was dilated anyway. But I think she will check at next week's appointment, so it will be interesting if she can tell me more.

What to Look Forward to Next Week: Getting closer and closer every day!

Was your baby born before, on, or after their due date? From what I've read, most first-time moms go past their due dates, but I've also read of quite a few who went early.

  1. Wow! This is so exciting :D Only my first visit here but I'm so happy for you! Is this your first baby?

To answer your questions: My baby's were both early. My son was exactly one week early, and my daughter was 4 days early. (Thank God, I was not a fan of being pregnant, and was so afraid they'd both be like, 2 weeks late!)

    1. Thanks, Amber! I hope you'll come back and visit again. :) (I do plan on posting something other than just pregnancy updates again in the future, lol.)
Yes, this is my first baby. Now that I'm this close to the end I'm paranoid about every twinge, wondering if I'm going into labor...but so far he seems to be pretty happy in there, ha!
