Third Trimester Favorites

Sooo this post has been sitting around as a draft for a long time now, but better late than never, right? I wanted to share some of the items I found most helpful during the final months of my pregnancy. I hope these suggestions come in helpful for any mamas-to-be out there!

La Croix Sparkling Water
I had gotten into drinking this not long before I got pregnant. During my first and second trimesters it really didn't appeal to me (thanks to the dysgeusia mostly), but I started loving it again once I hit the third trimester and started feeling better. The citrus flavors were probably my favorites, along with the cran-raspberry and passionfruit.

Mambino Belly Butter
This is a little on the pricey side, but I really liked it and I'm glad I tried it. It was fantastic for soothing my itchy belly as it grew. I really enjoyed the subtle citrusy scent and it soaks into the skin really well. I also had Earth Mama Angel Baby Stretch Oil on hand, so my routine was to use that in the morning after my shower and the Mambino Belly Butter at night before bed. I didn't end up with any stretch marks and while I'm sure there are other factors involved as well, I think keeping the skin hydrated with these products couldn't have hurt!

Exercise/Birthing Ball
I got to try one of these in our childbirth classes and it was so amazing that I went ahead and bought one. I would sit on it while I was watching tv, on the computer, or even eating meals. (P.S. It's come in handy with our newborn too--often if I sit on and bounce while he's fussy, the motion calms him right down.)

Lucie's List & Baby Gear Lab
Even though I finished our registry in my second trimester, I still did a lot of research again during my third for items that we either hadn't registered for or hadn't received and needed to purchase ourselves. These two sites were extremely helpful and I can't recommend them enough!

Water Alert App
It's important to drink plenty of fluids during pregnancy. I know I could see a difference when I had a day or two when I wasn't drinking enough--my Braxton-Hicks contractions would get worse, for one thing. I love this app, because it really helped me to keep track of how much water I was drinking (generally not as much as I thought) and I even set it to remind me to drink water throughout the day.

Did you enjoy any of these items during your pregnancy? Do you have any other third trimester favorites you'd like to recommend?

  1. Girl, the exercise ball was my fave with BOTH of my boys. With number one, I was on it so much my water literally broke on it, ha!
